Yuyan Zhang was born and raised in China. Despite her passion in math she studied liberal arts in college. Yuyan went to United States pursuing Ph.D. in Political Science, but graduated with a Master’s degree in Computer Science after discovering the excitement of coding and logics in software. Yuyan started her career as an embedded software engineer at Motorola in Phoenix Arizona. Later she moved to Seattle and grew through various roles and products in Microsoft as Software Developer in Test, Engineering Manager, Release Manager, and she is now an individual contributor Program Manager at Skype in Prague. Yuyan calls any place home where she is with her husband, two children, and their dog.
